    What is software RAID?

RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) is a method of dividing information between multiple disks in order to obtain redundancy, minimize latency and/or increase disk access bandwidth and maximize the possibility to recover from a hard drive failure. RAID-1 offers redundancy which means that the data on the primary disk is replicated in realtime on a secondary disk. Software RAID is managed by the operating system without requiring additional hardware.

What is a remote reboot port?

You can't access your server via SSH or Terminal Server to do a software reboot? Don't wait for a technician to do it, reboot your server on your own! APC's Masterswitch allows you to manage your server's electrical power supply. Via a web interface, you can choose the options ON, OFF or REBOOT. The APC interface is included with most dedicated servers hosted by iWeb™ MyServerNow.

    How is monthly traffic measured?

For dedicated servers and colocation, the bandwidth consumed by your network connection is computed monthly in GB transferred. The calculation includes both incoming and outgoing traffic. You can monitor your bandwidth consumption at any time using the MRTG graphic. Because bandwidth usage varies greatly according to time of day, a monthly utilization average is ideal. Billing by average maintained Mbps is also available for large bandwidth users. Unmetered servers are installed on a 10Mbps or 100Mbps Full Duplex port where traffic is not measured.
